About Linda

This website's purpose is to document and share some of the work that I have created over the span of my career as a metalsmith. On this About page, I also share a few photos of other things in my life that are important to me, such as my garden, the beautiful Sonoma County landscape, traveling, and my family and pets. These other aspects of my life provide insight into some of the inspiration for my work.

The jewelry, images, and vessels that I create are inspired by many varied sources: land formations, natural phenomena, botanical references, art from ancient civilizations, favorite passages in literature, early training in classical dance, and other personal experiences.

Additionally, a significant degree of motivation for my work comes from a persistent need for expression through some means other than written or verbal language. Manipulation of the material is also an important source of inspiration, with an active concern for the formal elements of design: line, form, volume, composition, texture, reflection, contrast and movement.

I have had the pleasure of living and gardening in beautiful Sonoma County, CA for many years. Incorporating a wide range of textures, colors, flowers, fruits, and vegetables into my gardens has been rewarding. Three much-loved Tibetan Terriers have been part of our family over the years.
